Day Four: Protector prayers, Why we need Highest Yoga Tantra

So, going to start this time with the protector prayers and the torma offering, gektor, to the interferers, then introduction, the talk. The protector prayers, the intention, that is, the purpose of reciting, your own success of Dharma practice, less obstacles, and then all His Holiness, what he wishes be succeed immediately, so that is something should include all the time, whenever we do protector prayers or Tara prayers, whatever. Always should include that. So if that, if His Holiness’s wishes get succeed then it benefits unbelievable to the world, peace, like sun rising, peace and happiness in the world, especially in the countries which have so much violence as well as, including Mainland China, to have total freedom, religious freedom and especially freedom to have pure Buddhism, religious freedom but freedom to have pure Buddhism and then as well as in Tibet. To have total freedom for the Tibetans, to have their country back, as well as able to preserve Dharma, spread Dharma even more than before, even more than past times what happened, to happen more than what happened in the past. Even more practitioners than what happened in the past, become enlightened, become bodhisattvas, become enlightened, so to happen more than before that. In that way then Buddhism in the world to be flourished and to last a long time, more stable and able to spread all over the world and to last a long time.

And then, here the particular one, that is that the statue of Maitreya Buddha, the 500-feet, to be able to construct as quick as possible, without delay, and to continue and complete and abide in this world until Maitreya Buddha descends in this world and the statue that which causes, because it’s large, so which causes, which can help, as so many people come to see, the statue can benefit to so many people, as that many people come, larger it is, so many people come from all over the world to see, then that means the statue can benefit so many people, so many sentient beings to purify their mind, their negative karma, defilements and collect extensive merits by seeing, by circumambulating, by offering, by praying, as well as helping that project, so through this, then their heart can be softened, then possibility to grow good heart, tolerance, compassion, wisdom, Dharma wisdom. Of course, wisdom how to make coffee, yeah, that’s what need, that wisdom how to make coffee more, like that, all that, anyway, so Dharma wisdom [RL], wisdom how to make most delicious coffee. [GL] Anyway, or cake. [GL] Of course, we need that, but I think here Dharma wisdom. Otherwise, cannot achieve happiness, cannot be free from samsara without wisdom, Dharma wisdom. Cannot cease the delusions, karma. Cannot actualize the path. However, so to generate, especially to open the hearts of everyone in the world, to generate loving kindness, compassion, bodhicitta in everyone’s heart. That way then to bring peace and happiness globally and individually, in individual person’s life.

For that, that statue has all these limitless skies of benefit, various ways to the sentient beings, without delay, fundings, everything. All the obstacles to be pacified immediately. So this is one to recite these prayers, the request to the protectors, to these Dharma protectors.

The Six-arm Mahakala. [Rinpoche chants in Tibetan]

The Palden Lhamo prayer. Do you have in the prayer books? [Rinpoche chants in Tibetan] Four-arm Mahakala. Oh, yes, in English, not in Russian. [GL, RL]

[Rinpoche offers gek-tor]

So that’s in order the preparation of the great initiation of the, there’s Compassionate Eyed Looking Buddha, outer, inner and secret, so this is the granting the great initiation of the secret Chenrezig, called Gyalwa Gyatso. So from father tantra, which is the Highest Tantra, and the father tantra, mother tantra, from that, mother tantra. So the necessity of why need to take this initiation, why need to take initiation or why need to take the, [pause] Highest Tantra initiation, that why there’s need to take Highest Tantra initiation, that is because one feels, that one has compassion toward sentient beings and one feel so unbearable that sentient beings are suffering in samsara, that even a second, even one second that they are suffering in samsara is like they’re suffering for eons, it’s so unbearable. So, to liberate them as quick as possible from the oceans of samsaric suffering, which continuation has no beginning, so for that then one need to achieve enlightenment as quick as possible; then for that one need to practice Highest Tantra, which contains the most skillful means to achieve enlightenment quickest, quicker and quicker. So lower tantra quicker than the Paramitayana path, which takes, you need to collect merit for three countless great eons to achieve enlightenment by practicing the Mahayana sutra, the Paramitayana. So the lower tantra is quicker than that, to achieve enlightenment. You can achieve enlightenment in one lifetime. Then, by practicing Highest Tantra, that has the greatest skill, the quickest way to achieve enlightenment, so, however, quicker and quicker, so first quick that contains the lower tantra and then quicker, the second, much quicker than that lower tantra, to achieve enlightenment by practicing Highest Tantra, so second quicker is the Highest Tantra.

However, so, not just only within one life, but in a brief lifetime of degenerated time. In the lower tantra you need to achieve immortality first and then you achieve long life first, so many hundreds, a thousand years, then you achieve enlightenment. But here in the Highest Tantra within some number of years, in a brief lifetime of degenerated time without need to prolong the life for hundreds, thousand years, in a brief lifetime of degenerated time one can achieve enlightenment. [pause]

Practicing guru yoga, then like one’s own life. Then, more than that, more than one’s own life, cherishing it more than one’s own life, then makes to achieve enlightenment quicker. Then, by living in tantric vows, cherishing _____ ______ ______. Then, meditating on the two stages, generation stage and completion stage, practicing tantra with three principal aspects of the path to enlightenment. So this way, by achieving enlightenment in a brief lifetime of degenerated time, however, quickest as possible, in this way then sentient beings, one’s own mother sentient beings, they don’t have to suffer for a long time, that’s the objective or that’s the whole purpose why need to practice tantra and especially Highest Tantra.

So now, [long pause] so, just the aspect of Chenrezig, there are so many different aspects. I think it’s, so many different aspects of Chenrezig, then there’s also jenang, initiation with blessing of, that transmitted through, whom these different aspects of Chenrezig appeared, great yogis or those enlightened beings, so initiation or blessing of holy body, holy speech, holy mind of the deity is transmitted. In Chinese, the Kuan Yin, Chenrezig in female aspect, there’s about a hundred different aspects, like that. So sentient beings have different karma, so, there the Chenrezig is female aspect, like that. So there’s many sentient beings who has karma with this particular Chenrezig, Secret Chenrezig, the Gyalwa Gyatso. So there’s need of this aspect to many sentient beings who has karma, with this aspect then benefit much more and achieve enlightenment quicker. So that’s why the particular the Chenrezig, why this great initiation, why these things, so like that, and also, as well as also to develop compassion. [pause]

So, to do the, to grant the great initiation that depends on preliminary preparation, which means analyzing the disciple, the karma, what attainment the disciple can achieve, whether there’s any obstacles to practice, to take the initiation, to practice Gyalwa Gyatso, the path. So examining, so like that, whether this can be initiated or not. So, this has graduation from the side of the lama, then the sadhana and the preparations, earth goddess and the mandala deities, preparation of vase. Now, preparation of disciple.

So, preparation from the side of the lama, giving torma to the interferers, this was done. So, the preparation from the side of the disciple, then cleaning the mouth, then distributing flower and then, now, mandala offering. So, that involves, specific for this Highest Tantra practice, this is tantric practice so then if one is visualizing the guru, so not only essence meditating from the side of the disciple, not only the essence deity, but also the aspect, visualize by stopping the ordinary aspect then one has to visualize, from the disciple’s side pure aspect, pure appearance, the appearance of the deity, Gyalwa Gyatso, the Secret Compassionate-Eyed Looking One. Then, the father, mother, like that, then offering mandala. One’s own three-time merits, body, speech and mind and then three-time merits, all this, decorated various offerings, filled the whole mandala, decorated the whole entire universe, then offering.

Sa zhi pö kyi.... [Short mandala offering]
