Rinpoche sent this letter to an old student who had served as a director of many centers.

My most dear, most precious, most kind, wish-fulfilling one,
First I would like to thank you from the depths of my heart, from the time you came to the sixth meditation course, then working on the book and for so many years offering service at the center, and for your dedication to Lama Yeshe and to the little one, me, and to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and so many sentient beings.

For so many years you made the center so welcoming and so worthwhile to sentient beings. It is becoming more and more beneficial to the sentient beings, even though there are only a few staff members. Then at __ center, for many years you made the center so welcoming, so good and so beneficial for so many people. Then at __ center, I haven’t been there for a long time, but today I was speaking to one student from there and she said it is so welcoming and so nice for people, with a coffee shop and a garden, so I really should go and visit.

Also many times a day you are praying for my heath, so thank you very much. My sickness is not so heavy, but it was a right side stroke. For a man it’s more difficult to recover when it’s on the right side, but for women a stroke on the left side is worse. It is some warning that I must be careful; it’s telling me that I must practice Dharma.

The Vajrayogini thangka I sent you should be very helpful when your life ends, to guide you to Vajrayogini’s pure land. You shouldn’t think it’s just a thangka, think you’re looking at the real Vajrayogini and make strong requests. Vajrayogini sends a hook to your crown and snatches out your consciousness. It is hooked by Vajrayogini who takes it straight back into the heart.

In Vajrayogini's pure land all the dakas and dakinis are playing gyaling music to welcome you, as you become oneness with Vajrayogini’s heart, nondual bliss and void—the mandala is nondual bliss and void. You will go to the pure land of Vajrayogini. You will fly, you will shoot up to Vajrayogini’s pure land, then you will be born in a lotus so you can listen to teachings from Vajrayogini.

I just came from the 100 Million Mani Retreat held recently in Mongolia. Many Mongolians attended and they recited 108 million OM MANI PADME HUM mantras, so they did eight million extra mantras. We want to have the 100 Million Mani Retreat as an annual event in Mongolia. About 60 Westerners attended, mostly nuns and one monk. A benefactor sponsored the Sangha to attend the retreat.

Now I am in the USA for two months or less, then I will go to Kopan for the November course, then the Most Secret Hayagriva lungs in South India, then I will attend His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings. I hope you enjoy my symbolic presents to thank you.

With much love and prayers...
