Complications After Heart Bypass Surgery

A student wrote that a relative had heart bypass surgery, which was supposed to be a simple procedure, but he was admitted to ICU after the bypass because his lower intestine had stopped functioning. The student asked Rinpoche to check on his condition and requested advice about prayers that could be arranged.

The students at the Medicine Buddha retreat [in Malaysia, 2016] have been given his name and are dedicating for him. Also the Sangha at my house are doing prayers and I am doing prayers for him.

I checked and it seems his life is OK. He needs:

  • Chagsum puja: To be done three times. You could ask Geshe-la to do this.
  • Liberating from Bondage of Body Speech and Mind mantra: He should recite this if he can. [Find links to the Dharani Extremely Conquering from Bondage in the FPMT Catalogue.]
  • Your mother could recite the Vajra Cutter Sutra five times for him.
