When you are being sincerely kind to that person, usually they learn from you. Then they become kind to you, but sometimes it takes time.
Rinpoche wrote this letter to a student who was in severe pain and required constant care. Rinpoche had heard that the person sometimes became angry or frustrated with the caregivers.
