E-letter Special Mailing September 2010

By Nicholas Ribush

Dear LYWA friends and supporters,

I hope all is well with you. I’m writing again in my role as director of Kurukulla Center for Tibetan Buddhist Studies here in Boston, following up on my email last month about the Kalachakra stupa we’ve built at the center.

In the last couple of weeks we’ve had both Choden Rinpoche and Lama Zopa Rinpoche consecrate and bless the stupa. Both were amazing and joyous occasions. You can view pictures from Lama Zopa Rinpoche's visit in our Online Image Gallery.

The completed stupa

The stupa has been finished, but work continues on the Tara palace and pond. Both stupa and pond have been paid for and we are extremely grateful to all who have contributed their time and money. However, some bills remain to be paid.

The circumambulation path has cost us $10,000 and we still need to raise these funds. You can see a photo of its construction below.

We also have electrical expenses of $1,000 and need to install security lighting and cameras ($2,500).

We would also like to make an offering of $5,000 to our artists, who have been working unpaid for six months, just supported by the center with room and board:

In total, we are looking for $18,500 more and would very much appreciate your kind help in finishing off this amazing project.

You can make your credit card donation via PayPal here, or mail us a check to Kurukulla Center, 68 Magoun Avenue, Medford, MA 02155, USA. If you would like to wire funds directly into our account, please email me and I will send you our bank details.

Thank you so much,

Much love,
\"
