A young student would get very angry whenever she heard little noises, like the ringing of a bell, or people whispering. She wrote to Rinpoche for advice on why she was experiencing this and what she could do about it.

My feeling is that you have lung, as well as some spirit harm. I am going to do some pujas for you and then I suggest you do the following three practices for the lung:

  1. Recite some MANIs.
  2. Exhale forcefully several times.
  3. Shake your whole body vigorously.

Repeat the above several times daily.

There are two particular meditations for lung and these would be very beneficial for you to do. When you have strong lung, visualize an iron, nine-pronged vajra, standing up at your heart, inside your body, blazing red hot and oneness with fire. Concentrate one-pointedly on that vajra. This is the main practice.

You can also try the following practice and see which one is better for you. When heart wind (lung) rises, think your heart is split into 8 or 16 pieces, like cutting a tomato into many pieces. All the pus and blood comes out.

So, practice these and let me know which one is more beneficial.
