If you regard that person as very precious, you can forgive them and think that they are the most precious and kind one in your life. However, you can say that they should not act like this to other people or they will suffer unbelievably in the lower realms—as a hell being, hungry ghost or animal—or in the human realm. Each time they are born as a human being they will suffer so much and they will be cheated for millions and billions of lives. They will be totally cheated and they will have unbelievable poverty. They will suffer from unbelievable, unbelievable poverty for many years.

If you are with that person, first of all you should think that nothing exists from its own side, everything is empty. Nothing exists from its own side. Being with that person is a little bit like that—it is another hallucination. So first you have the hallucination and then, being with that person is another hallucination.

Also remember that this is your karma.

Please take good care. You know, “taking good care” doesn’t mean taking care by stealing or taking care by killing others. It means the opposite. Taking good care means the ten virtuous actions, guru devotion, renunciation, bodhicitta, right view and also the two stages.
