After news of an outbreak of Ebola, Rinpoche translated two practices to be used when there is an epidemic of a serious virus or contagious disease that affects a whole area and many people, and which no one knows how to stop.

The best practice to avert war and also diseases like Ebola is Logyönma. If people gather and perform a lot of Logyönma practice, this can prevent their spread.

One time in Dharamsala, India, there was a serious disease killing many people. Every day, for many months, the people in Dharamsala gathered together and did Logyönma practice. In this way, they were able to prevent the disease from taking over.

Other practices that are good for Ebola and epidemic diseases is Vajrapani/ Hayagriva/Garuda practice, the Mantra Purifying All Negative Karma and Defilements, and the practice of “The Exalted King of the Mantra of the Great Breath.” People can also wear the latter mantra as protection.

Students can go to places where there is an epidemic and perform these practices. They can recite them and teach them to others, in order to change the karma. When the people hear the students chanting the mantras, this can also help them.
