“I am very happy that you have joined this Yamantaka retreat; that you want to dedicate your time to doing it. If you can do this retreat a little more perfectly, that will really make your time worthwhile. That’s the main thing.
⎯ Lama Zopa Rinpoche

In this commentary, Lama Zopa Rinpoche gives precise instructions for the Yamantaka Solitary Hero retreat. Rinpoche teaches on various aspects of this Highest Yoga Tantra practice, including the motivation for the retreat, general and particular visualizations while reciting the mantra, and how to establish concentration.

The commentary was given to a small group of western disciples at Tushita Retreat Centre, Dharamsala, in the autumn of 1984. The book also includes talks given by Lama Zopa Rinpoche at Tushita Mahayana Meditation Centre, New Delhi, and Kopan Monastery, Kathmandu, in 1984. Edited by Ven. Ailsa Cameron, Maureen O’Malley and Nicholas Ribush.
