In these teachings, His Holiness the Dalai Lama offers commentary on The Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva, the mind-training text by the fourteenth-century Tibetan master Thogme Zangpo. Given during the 1989 Kalachakra initiation in Santa Monica, California, the teachings explore how compassion, wisdom and the six perfections can guide us in transforming difficult circumstances, overcoming self-centeredness and bringing greater benefit to others. Translator: Jeffrey Hopkins. The book The Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas: An Oral Teaching contains the root text by Thogme Zangpo and a commentary by Geshe Sonam Rinchen, translated by Ruth Sonam.
