Tara Mantra for Success and Dispelling Obstacles

Date Posted:

Just by remembering this mantra all fears and dangers are dispelled, we will achieve all the realizations and have control over all sentient beings.  This text is translated from the collection of Zungdu (Dharani) in the Kangyur.

Green Tara by Lama Zopa Rinpoche
Tara thangka painted by Lama Zopa Rinpoche for Max Mathews, Kopan Monastery, Nepal, 1971.
The Mantra Promised by the Arya Mother Liberator Herself
for Dispelling Obstacles and Achieving Success

In Sanskrit: Ārya tārā svapratijñā nāma dhāraṇī
In Tibetan: phag ma dröl ma rang gi dam chä pa zhe ja wäi zung
In English: The Mantra Promised by Arya Mother Liberator Herself

I prostrate to Arya Mother Liberator.

Then recite the mantra promised by Arya Mother Liberator herself:

TADYATHĀ / OṂ TĀRE TĀRĀYAI / HŪṂ HŪṂ HŪṂ / SAMAYA STHITE / BHARA BHARA / SARVĀ BHARAṆA / VIBHŪṢITE / PADMANI PADMA / MAHĀ PADMA / ĀSANA STHITE / HASA HASA / TRAILOKYA VARADE / SARVA DEVA DĀNAPA / PŪJITE SMADĀHI / BHAGAVATI TĀRE / SMARĀHĪ / BHAGAVĀNTA / TATHĀGATASYA / PURATAḤ / SAMAYAṂ / DHARA DHARA / MAHĀSATVA AVALOKITE / MAṆIKANIKA / VICI TRĀBHARAṆE / OṂ VILOKĀYA (insert the name of the person who needs success) BHAGAVATE / TĀRE / HRĪṂ HRĪṂ HRĪṂ PHAṬ SVĀHĀ

Just by remembering this mantra, all fears will be dispelled. You will achieve all realizations. You will have control over all sentient beings. Make extensive offerings to Arya Tara on the white dates of the 8th and 15th [of the Tibetan lunar month], then recite the mantra until you see Tara directly. Whatever you wish will be granted. All sublime realizations will be granted. If this doesn’t happen, it means that I, [Tara], have committed the five heavy negative karmas without break. In addition, you will receive inconceivable benefits.

This came from the Tantra of the Sublime Vajra.

Thus, The Mantra Promised by the Arya Mother Liberator Herself is completed.

Mantras for Forgetfulness

Date Posted:

Rinpoche sent the following advice to a monk at Kopan Monastery who was forgetting many things. For example, when the monk called somebody on the telephone, he forgot who he was calling.

My advice is that you need to receive tromo-metseg long mantra. Recite the long mantra ten times a day and also recite the short mantra five times a day.

Also recite dorje-nam-jom-pa ( Skt: Vajravidarana) mantra.

With much love and prayers...

Translator’s dedication

May this translation, which makes available this advice from Buddha, offer great benefit to sentient beings, immediately and instantly pacifying the anger of others in the family, outside, in the office, or wherever, and be able to bring so much peace, happiness, and harmony in life, like the sun shining. May it be able to stop harm being given to others; may only benefit and loving kindness, compassionate thought and bodhicitta be generated toward others. May everyone live their lives only with loving kindness, compassion, and benefit for each other, without one single harm, and in this way may the whole world be filled with so much peace and happiness, individually and globally. May there be no war, famine, disease, torture, pain, danger of water, tornadoes, earth, wind, fire, and so forth.

This method was given by Buddha to benefit sentient beings, to pacify their sufferings, and to fulfill their wishes for happiness. This mantra is from the Kangyur, the translated direct teachings of Buddha.

Benefits of Namgyalma Mantra

Date Posted:

Rinpoche gave the following advice about the long Namgyalma mantra.

The Namgyalma mantra is extremely powerful. If you put this mantra on a mountain, then the whole mountain is blessed and any human beings, animals or insects who touch or climb the mountain have their negative karma purified just through that. They are not reborn in the lower realms.

If you have this mantra on a banner, even the shadow from the banner purifies the negative karma of any being it touches.

Similarly, if the mantra is in a house, all beings in the house—not only human beings, but also cats, dogs elephants, dinosaurs, ants, bugs or flies—are purified and liberated from the lower realms.

It is excellent to have many of these mantras in your car, on the inside of the roof. Then, every day people are blessed, purified and liberated from the lower realms.

This is the main mantra for purifying and liberating from the lower realms—purifying negative karma by putting the mantra on the body of a person who has died or chanting it for a person who has died.

A numberless billion, zillion, trillion thanks to you. There are no words to express your support, donations and service.

With biggest love...

Buddha Rinchen Tsugtor Chen Mantra

Date Posted:

Rinpoche advised the following mantra for Buddha Rinchen Tsugtor Chen, for protection from the three lower realms. As soon as someone dies, this mantra can be recited loudly in their ear.

CHOM DÄN DÄ DE ZHIN SHEG PA DRA CHOM PA YANG DAG PAR DZOG PÄI SANG GYÄ RIN CHHEN TSUG TOR CHÄN LA CHHAG TSHÄL LO

To Bhagavan, Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Complete Buddha, Precious Ushnisha, I prostrate.

By hearing this mantra one will never be reborn in the lower realms, will be liberated, and will be able to enlighten all sentient beings from the oceans of samsara.
