Dying, Five Powers, Dedications

…the good friend, means spiritual friend, good friend, Dharma friend, and leaves positive imprint, so while there's no incredible pain or other very worse conditions, without those obstacles then those Dharma friends can help, leave positive imprint to be able to recognize clear light or to be able to remind the practice, the Dharma friends can remind the practice then in this way doesn't go to, reincarnate in lower realms, go to pure realm of the enlightened being, such as Amitabha, so forth and then again to find perfect human body and practice the path and that way achieve enlightenment.

Then if one become alive for a long time, then it's good to be alive for a long time, then in this way one can generate realizations of, one can grow the crops of the experience, which means realizations of the path. Without the fresh teaching that one has received, without becoming cold, the fresh, the warm fresh teaching without becoming, like food, without becoming cold, so by practicing that then one is able to make the mind ripened. So whatever happens in the life, then one should meditate, one should rejoice, so like this, whatever happens in the life, one should rejoice. So one geshe, one monk, asked if you are sick then how to think, requested to the bodhisattva Thogme Zangpo who wrote Thirty-seven Practices, there's incredible, unbelievable, amazing story of his life. So bodhisattva Thogme Zangpo gave these teachings how to deal with, in other words, whether one is happy or suffering, to use everything to achieve enlightenment, ?manifesting for all sentient beings.

So even when the death happens then think the meditation, so I am experiencing death for the sake of all the sentient beings, so meditation is same. So all the sentient beings to be free from, to have happiness, ultimate happiness, to be free from all the suffering of death. So however so when the death comes, there is signs, outer, inner signs to check, the dreams, signs of body, then there's to check when the death will happen, after how many years, how many months it will happen, so there's ways to check with the breath coming from the nostrils. Then when it's time to die then one practice the five powers, using the death in the path, using the death as enjoyment or happiness or meditation, path to completely end the suffering of death and rebirth, all the entire suffering, and not only that to use the death as path to the peerless happiness of full enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings.

So one use the five powers, the power of the white seed, then power of the attitude, attitude is same as what I talked before, practice bodhicitta at the death time, intermediate state, rebirth. Then putting the blame on the self-cherishing thought, whatever, all the problems. Then, power of the prayer, to be able to practice bodhicitta all the time and to remember at the death time bodhicitta, after, intermediate state and rebirth, all the time, to remember bodhicitta. Then, the power of training, so that is the position of the body. So, many practitioners, they pass away in meditation by sitting up, in that position, with meditation position they pass away and many practitioners, they pass away in the same position as when Buddha was passing away in the sorrowless state, similar way, so right ribs on the bed, so this way lying down, then if possible then this one closing the nostril, the breath coming from the nostril, so this is to do with attachment, this breath has to do with attachment, so by stopping attachment, attachment is one of, this is the main thing that which causes death, which makes to join to suffering realm, samsara, again and again. Then the two legs stretched out, then putting the right hand on that, then trying to die with compassion, by generating compassion for all living beings, by thinking how they are suffering and to cause, to free them from all the suffering by oneself. Then, by doing the practice of taking and giving, with that practice, then trying to die while one is doing that practice. Then, or if one is, depending on one's own practice, either generate devotion, guru-Triple Gem then in that way, with that mind then by remembering the guru, the virtuous friend upon one's crown, then trying to die with continuation of that devotion. So that is described one, powa, transference of consciousness in the pure realm, and so however the other way is meditating on emptiness.

Then even oneself, even the person is other religion, Catholic or even other faiths, that one's own mind is oneness with God, holy mind of God, thinking one's own nature of the mind is completely pure, there's no guilt in the nature of the mind. Then thinking this is the holy mind of God, same, that which is completely pure, no mistakes, infinite compassion for all living beings, the omniscient mind, even one is another religion can do this way.

So however when we achieve, the point where we don't have to experience death that is when we, when one become completely free from all the delusions, the disturbing thoughts and seeds of the disturbing thoughts, so that time, when one has achieved all the cessation of the suffering, that time then one doesn't, one is free from the death. Then, such as higher bodhisattvas, when they achieve the wisdom directly perceiving emptiness, those higher bodhisattvas also they are free from death, death and rebirth, old age, sicknesses, they don't have these things. And then according to, this is even the Paramitayana path. According to tantric path, then when one achieves clear light, illusory body, clear light, then that time one has controlled the death, one has overwhelmed death, one is free from death.

So until we achieve these levels, so we have to go through the cycle of death and rebirth, so however therefore, we have to use, whatever happens we have to use, make it beneficial for all sentient beings.

Yeah, so I stop here.

[Dedications]

Please dedicate the merits that all the positive actions that were done in the past, present, future and the Buddhas, bodhisattvas, may the bodhicitta, the altruism which is source of all the happiness for oneself, for all other living beings, may it be generated within one's mind and in the minds of all other sentient beings. Those who have, may it be developed.
