Oral Transmission of Logyönma mantra; Commentary on Logyönma

So first I'm going to do the, going to give the oral transmission of the mantra, of this healing mantra before we do the meditation. So in this way we have the lineage of the mantra, so starting from this deity, this lineage of this mantra from this deity then to all the yogis, those who achieved the path to enlightenment, so to those highly attained beings then down to my guru, from whom I received this deity's initiation, His Holiness the Dalai Lama's guru, one extremely kind virtuous friend, Mahayana virtuous friend, His Holiness Tsenshap Serkong Rinpoche, one very high Tibetan lama. Then another one, that one passed away and reincarnated now and studying in the monastery now. Then another guru Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche. So I received the initiation of this deity from this highly attained lama, this ascetic, the great yogi who is, who lives at Dharamsala where His Holiness the Dalai Lama lives, who will be coming to give teachings in all the centers in the West soon. So this mantra has the lineage, so carries the blessings from the deity, from all those lamas down to highly qualified my gurus and then from them, from their holy mouths then I received. So by receiving the lineage of the blessing then it has more power, then if you do the meditation or recite the mantra it carries the blessings or it carries the power, more beneficial, so that's the purpose.

So now we are going to do the motivation, the positive attitude that which makes receiving the oral transmission or doing the meditation most beneficial for all the sentient beings. That which makes the taking the oral transmission and reciting the mantra, doing meditation become cause to achieve the peerless happiness the full enlightenment, which means that you become the, that we become the, each of us become the perfect guide to free everyone from all the suffering and causes and bring to peerless happiness, the full enlightenment. So this is the ultimate greatest benefit that we can offer, that sentient beings need and that we can offer to the sentient beings.

So now we think, purpose of my life that is then not just to solve my problems or obtain happiness just for one living being, even that is me, myself. So it is not just for that, purpose of my life is to free everyone from all the suffering and causes and bring to the highest peerless happiness, full enlightenment. For this reason then I need to develop my mind, the wisdom, the method, compassion so forth, these realizations of the right path. Then in order to, this is the mental healing, freeing my mind, by actualizing this path freeing my mind from all the gross and subtle obscurations then to be able to do this I need long life and to be able to do this, need to be free from the obstacles. To be able to succeed this I need to be free from the obstacles: the outer obstacle, inner obstacle, such as the disease, untimely death, disease and so forth. Then, this outer obstacles, then inner obstacles the, inner obstacles which is the mind, the negative action and the mistaken action and the imprint that's left on the mind, these obscurations them to be purified. So then for that reason I'm going to take the oral transmission and I'm going to do the meditation, in order to benefit for everyone, for every living being, to obtain happiness for every living being. Then so please generate as much as possible the pure motivation, the pure attitude, in order to cause happiness to every living being, free them from all the problems and causes.

Think, also motivate to be able to actualize meaning of this mantra, the path, the whole path, especially wisdom and compassion for all beings, the absolute wisdom, all this to be actualized within my mind as quick as possible for the sake of, for the benefit of the sentient beings and through this mantra, may I also be able to heal everyone's not just the disease, so as soon as they hear the mantra then all their disease to be immediately to be purified. Not only that, any problem that others have to be immediately to become free from all the problems and all the causes of problems, that which is in the mind, all the negative actions, the imprint, all the obscurations, to be purified immediately, anybody whom I, who hears this mantra from me. So one, so each of us we dedicate even now while we're taking the oral transmission that through this mantra that each of us can purify or free everyone from all the sufferings immediately and able to actualize the whole path that which contained in this mantra. So if you dedicate like this then it can create the healing power within us, our body, speech and mind having healing power to help others, to immediately free others from not only the disease but all the problems and causes.

Now as I explained before, the deity, so this Logyönma this wearing, the female Buddha wearing the leaves, leaf skirt. So as I described before, the evolution, the process to this state of the full enlightenment, state, the state of, the level of mind of the state of the full enlightenment. So however, this fully developed mind, omniscient mind which pervades to all existence, which sees all the past, present and future, everything, and that which has perfect power to guide me and all living beings to the highest, peerless happiness, which is bound by great compassion for me and for everyone. So because of the compassion then manifested in this form, the omniscient mind, the fully enlightened being's mind, this one manifested in this form, female aspect, the black color but nature of light. Light has different color so, black, but in the nature of light. And one face, two arms and three eyes. Her hair is beautified by standing up and her face has a highly wrathful expression and she is adorned with the tiger-skin skirt. So here there is no leaf. Here the difference is the tiger, this black one, this particular one, the others are with the leaf but here the tiger-skin skirt. They all have significations and they all signify path so here at the moment we go straight without, however every single shape and every single thing, implements, why hair is standing up, all these has meanings. Wearing a tiger-skin skirt and is being adorned with jewel ornaments. Her right hand holds a short- handled axe. That's not just cutting, that is not, the purpose why she is carrying this is not just cutting wood. This signifies wisdom. The short-handled axe for cutting that signifies wisdom, wisdom realizing ultimate nature. The wisdom that which, absolute wisdom, wisdom realizing ultimate nature of the I, the mind and so forth. Wisdom realizing the ultimate nature of the I, the self and then wisdom realizing ultimate nature of the aggregates. There are two types of selflessness. The non-truly existent, non- inherently existent I, non-inherently existent aggregates. Aggregates means association of the body and mind. Relating to our aggregates, association of body mind. So non-inherently existence of the aggregates. So these two are what I said, the two selflessness. So the wisdom realizing these two selflessness, so this axe signify wisdom cutting the root of the problems that which is within our mind, which is the ignorance, the hallucinated mind, the hallucinated concept perceiving things wrong way, appearing the, apprehending, perceiving things in the wrong way, apprehending things in wrong way. This one. That which is our fundamental problem.

Her left hand holds, so she's carrying this axe, short-handled axe, axe for cutting, so cutting our problems, not just the disease, that is just one, but as I mentioned the disease is just, like one atom from this earth. So comparing the rest this is just one, this is nothing. That, so this cutting the problem, the main problem is the mind, the main problem is not the body, the main problem is the mind, all these hallucinated mind, wrong concept, that which brings our life into problems. So this cutting this hallucinated mind, the ignorance.

Then because this Logyönma, this aspect of Buddha, that's the function, what she is doing is cut, all other, us all the living beings root of our problems, the hallucinated mind. So, that's what, that's how she's guiding us. Making us to realize, to actualize wisdom and then cut our root of problems. And that's how she bring us to the end of the entire problems.

Then her left hand, her left hand holds a freshly cut branch as a fan. So that could signify method. The altruism, good heart, so forth, the path which are method that could signify that, method which frees us sentient beings from the sufferings and causes. Her left leg is stretched out and her right foot is stepping out on a long legged bird. I don't know the name. There's a, the what is it?

Sonam: Something like a stork, Rinpoche.

Rinpoche: Yeah. Maybe those, probably that bird that has long legs standing, and sleeps on that.

Sonam: A water bird. With it's head on it side.

Rinpoche: Yeah, maybe those long legs. Like that. That, the left leg is stretched then stepping over the, the feet is stepping over, here, what's it called?

Sonam: Maybe stork or one bird has very long legs, Rinpoche and bodies and then long neck.

Rinpoche: Might be that, yeah. So this has significations. This has symbolic, it's not the deity's crushing that bird. It's not that but it's symbolic. That, signify having controlled their mind, the cause of the problems, those hallucinated mind, those inner enemy is controlled.

Stands on a moon disc encircled by radiant light. There a white OM at the brow, red AH at the throat, blue HUM at the heart.

So today maybe we just, this last part involves, then invoking the empowering deities, initiating then deity then residue of the water coming out the crown, then becoming Vairocana but that's involved with the more the meditation, but still we just do up to there.

However, the most important thing that's the, whether, it doesn't matter the aspect, the visualization aspect whether it's clear or not. The most important is the feeling what it is, what it is this female aspect of Buddha Logyönma, there's first of all the infinite compassion, infinite compassion for me and for everyone, perfect power to guide us and then omniscient mind. So that is the important, the essence, what it is is important to feel that, rather than, that is more important than the aspect. Aspect even that's not clear, that won't make much differences, the essence is very important.

So with this feeling then we visualize nectar, from her heart out of compassion she is sending white beams, from the heart to us, she's sending like sun, like the car, nighttime car light or like this, at the airport, the light, at the airport there's the spotlight that reaches very far. From the heart white light emit, emitted white light and completely illuminated within oneself. Immediately [snap, snap], instantly illuminated. So all of the problems are gone and cause, especially what we should concentrate is, especially what we should purify is the cause of the problems. if there's no cause then there's no problem. If there's a cause then there's, then even there's no problem now but the problem can happen later. So most important thing when you purify to concentrate on the cause purified. So we think like this. Disease, spirit harm, that which is condition, I will explain another time, not now. Spirit condition then the mistaken action and the thoughts, imprint, all completely purified. So and then concentrate oneself purified, then also we think anybody that you know who have the same problems, then all other, we think, we think all other sick people, all other sick people we think, then all the rest of the living beings whose mind is obscured are being purified.

So the way to do is at the beginning we concentrate more on oneself purified then the end before we, stop then we can think of more others, concentrate more on others, purified. So like that can be done.

So you can just meditate, then I recite the mantra you can, you just imitate the mantra as I recite. So you don't have to look at the paper, you just meditate the beam light coming, purified. Just concentrate on that.

Oneself then all the sick people, those whom one knows, then all the sick people, then all the rest human beings purified. So as soon as the light came completely illuminated. Like glass, like the light bulb, when switch on, how it looks the light bulb. Like that, completely illuminated inside. Then remember all these four things are purified. Then concentrate on that.

So now think, everything purified, all the disease, spirit harm, negative karma, obscurations, everything were completely purified. That which is within us completely purified. The body become completely white, nature of white light. Calm and clear like crystal, calm and clear. So mentally become completely pure and physically become completely pure. [pause]

So to generate this strong faith is extremely important that completely purified all these things. So that mind which generates strong faith in this, that's the real healing one, that's the real healing mind. One of the real, in this practice, in other practices wisdom and compassion but here in this practice such as the meditation on the deity and the recitation of mantra here it's to do with strong determination the, the purified, the strong faith that one is completely purified. So this mind becomes, this mind heals, this mind becomes the healer. [very long pause]

So we stop here. So please dedicate the merit, cause of happiness, positive action, positive imprint, all the infinite merit that we accumulate by doing the practice, to benefit other sentient beings. So may the source of all the happiness for oneself and everyone the altruism renouncing the self from where the problem comes and cherishing others who are the source of happiness, all one's own happiness. Then this altruism to be generated within one's mind and in the mind of all other living beings and those who have, may it be developed.

Then due to all these merits that I have accumulated, past, present and future, may any being, whoever, anybody who hears me, who talks, who see me, who hears me, who talks about me, who remember about me, then all those beings immediately may they never, immediately they become free from all the disease, spirit harm, negative karma, obscurations, the negative actions and the obscurations. They become free from all this immediately and quickly achieve the highest happiness, full enlightenment. So everything to become immediately healing for them. Whatever they do, harm or help, whatever they do to me, it becomes meaningful, great healing for them.

Then due to all these positive actions that I have done in the past, present, future, all this, then may I achieve the highest the full enlightenment and lead everyone to this peerless happiness, the full enlightenment as quick as possible. Lead everyone to happiness, especially ultimate happiness.

So this water, this water was already, I tried to bless this water with the mantra of the other, Compassionate Buddha. So this is one way, this is common way of healing. There's also practice to do this way, but today we didn't get done. Maybe tomorrow we do the practice, how you can do by yourself, blessing the water and to heal.

So I drink healing tea.

You can take the healing emptiness...  In other words, no tea.
