Chapter 9 Part D: Dedications

Wednesday October 31 Part D

…sacrificing themselves through the organization to serve other sentient beings and teaching of Buddha and those who rely upon me, whom I promised to pray, whose name is given to me, those who are doing service, may all of us, including all of us here and everyone, may all of us have long life, to be healthy, all the wishes to be succeed immediately, everyone wishes to be succeed immediately according to the holy Dharma, so according to holy Dharma so there is no danger, no risk, if it’s according to holy Dharma, no danger to become negative karma. And then may we be able to actualize the Lama Tsongkhapa’s stainless path, unified of sutra and tantra, in this, the realizations of the steps of the path to enlightenment in this very lifetime within all of our minds without delay even a second.

And then may all the Sanghas in this organization be able to complete the scriptural understanding, realizations of the path to enlightenment in this very lifetime by living in the pure vinaya and then by receiving all the needs and all the protection.

And may the social service centers, hospice, schools, so forth, the hospitals, so forth, all the social service centers, and meditation centers to be the most beneficial to all sentient beings, immediately pacifying the sufferings of the body, mind of the sentient beings. And then able to spread complete teaching of Lama Tsongkhapa in the mind of all the sentient beings by receiving all the needs.

Due to all the past, present, future merits collected by me, three-time merit collected by others, then here the LMB, one hundred thousand Medicine Buddha statue temple and place for Sanghas and as well as one hundred thousand stupas, to every day as long, how many hundreds, thousands years it lasts, exist that they can purify, then every day so many sentient beings without words, in silence, can liberate them from the lower realms and from samsara and bring them to enlightenment. Meaningful to behold, anybody who see, anybody who touch, it’s all purifying their negative karma, defilements and anybody who remember plants seed to enlightenment; anybody who dreams of the stupa and the holy objects plants seed of enlightenment. And every time they remember, it plants seed of enlightenment in their mind and brings them to enlightenment, that memory, as well as the pictures, and so forth today, then no question then who make offering, circumambulate, all those, so meaningful to behold, then so like this, and then the universal education school, however, then other social service, hospice or whatever, all other, like that then all the rest of the centers, all the projects, whatever they have, to be succeed immediately by receiving the needs.

Then [pause] as I mentioned before, then the large stupa, the replica of what is in Tibet, Gyangtse, then that which is trying to build at in Bendigo, so including that, and then all other projects, building monastery, nunnery, or stupas in other countries, all may it be, Columbia, Mexico, so forth, then all those, Spain, be succeed immediately by receiving all the needs. Then purifies so many, purify, most beneficial for all sentient beings, purify those numberless sentient beings’ negative karma and that allows them to generate bodhicitta, compassion, loving kindness and to have wisdom realizing emptiness. Besides the people who are actually engaged to build, so then to contribution, extremely important contribution for the world peace. Because the world peace depends, all the happiness, success, health and everything, all the good things has to come from good karma. Everything has to come from good karma. So therefore these are actual means to create good karma; very powerful means to create good karma for sentient beings. So that’s how they benefit to the world. Then not only just the temporary peace but it brings to, it ends the samsara and then it brings to enlightenment. So that’s the most important achievement.

And then as well as five-hundred-feet Maitreya Buddha statue to be completed as quick as possible. Then by receiving all the needs. May all these projects then, ?_______ statue and centers cause to generate bodhicitta in the mind of all the sentient beings and then through that may nobody experience war, famine, disease, torture, poverty, sickness, dangers of fire, water, air, earth, those problems, the earthquakes, then may everybody have perfect peace and happiness.

And may this, [long pause] well, I know it’s late but I think, in the sutra text that the, the sutra Engaging the Mudra of Generating the Power of Faith, Power of Devotion, there it says like this, it’s a very powerful one, like this. A statue of Buddha or even a picture of a statue of Buddha, seeing, just seeing a statue or picture of Buddha, the benefit how much the sentient beings get, just seeing the picture, just seeing the statue of Buddha, there it says like this, collects numberless great merit, than, the person who just see the statue, sentient being, collects numberless great merit than, it’s quite some time ago, I didn’t repeat these benefits, so....

So this sentient being who see the Buddha statue, just merely seeing a statue of Buddha, collect far more greater, collect numberless great merit, than the merit, universe filled with jewels, whole entire universe filled with jewels and then make offering, how many arhats? Arhats are those who are free from samsara, who practiced, I mean who put unbelievable effort and then ceased the delusion and karma, free from samsara, solitary realizer, arhats, how many? Equaling the number of sand grains of the Atlantic Ocean. How many arhats? Equaling the number of the sand grains of the Atlantic Ocean. So that many arhats, the whole entire universe filled with jewels, then offer how many arhats? That many number of arhats and that many length of time, for that many number of eons, so the merit is, of course, that itself what you offer is jewels, you fill the whole entire universe, then to arhats. So I mentioned the other day offering to Sangha, somebody offer the medicinal drink to four Sanghas, four number of monks, then due to that karma, so powerful then next life that person was born as a very powerful wealthy king in India, very, very powerful, ?Keshakir, the place called ?Keshakir or something like that. Just for offering medicinal drink to four members. So here it’s arhat, that many. So that much and then just seeing a statue of Buddha, a sentient being seeing, this one collects numberless great merit, far more, much more than the previous one. So therefore, Buddha has explained in the sutra, like this. So you can see now how these are the practical means if you really want to cause happiness to sentient beings, happiness has to come from good karma. For them to generate compassion, loving kindness has to come from good karma, has to come from merit. Without merit how are you going to change the mind? Just having intellectual understanding doesn’t mean that you can change your mind. Even you know the whole entire Buddha’s teaching by heart that alone doesn’t mean you can change your mind. So have to have good karma, merit. So like that.

So anyway, so besides people, besides the organization people who actually build, no question how much merit but just even a sentient being who sees the statue or stupa, it’s mind blowing merit, like that.

May the Lama Tsongkhapa teaching be spread all over the world, in all the directions, may it flourish, and may I be able to cause this to happen. [Tibetan]

Due to all the past, present, future merits collected by me, three-time merits collected by others, that which are empty from its own side, I left my favorite, my most favorable dedication. Due to all the past, present, future merits collected by me, three-times merit collected by others, that which are totally nonexistent from its own side, [pause] may the I, who is totally nonexistent from its own side, [pause] achieve Medicine Buddha’s, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Medicine Buddha’s enlightenment, which is also totally nonexistent from its own side, [pause] and lead all the sentient beings, who are also totally nonexistent from their own side, [pause] to that enlightenment, Medicine Buddha’s enlightenment, which is totally nonexistent, empty, from its own side, by myself alone who is totally nonexistent from its own side. [pause]

[Tibetan, then multiplying mantras.]
